The Finished Product

I meant to post a picture of the curtains finished in my last post, so here they are.

Is There Something Wrong with this Picture?

So I have to brag for just a moment about my wonderful husband Perry. Not only does he cook, clean, fix anything that needs to be fixed, but yes.... he can sew! Here he is hemming some curtains that we bought over a year ago and never put up because I haven't gotten around to hemming them. I am very intimidated by my sewing machine and I have only used it a handful of times to sew my scrapbook pages. I've never actually sewn material with it! I know it is sad but true. Well, when Perry decides he wants to do a project, there is no stopping him. He is very motivated and determined to finish it. Unlike me who has many unfinished projects around the house. :) But I love that quality about him. He is always trying to make things better and more efficient for not only our family but in every aspect of his life. I am thankful I have a husband who helps me so much and is so motivated. He is on assignment in D.C. this week so we are really missing him. We miss you and love you Perry!
I was trying a tilt angle w/my new camera :)

Abby Lost Her 1st Tooth!

Abby has had a loose tooth for a few months now. Well, today it was barely hanging on by a thread and we suggested that she let us tie some floss around it and yank it out. Taking after me (with a very low tolerance for pain), I didn't think she would go for it, but she said "okay". I tied the floss around the little tooth and didn't have to pull very hard before it came right out. She cried just a little afterward, mostly because it was bleeding and because it felt so different. But I was so proud of her bravery! I think her main motivation to let me pull it out was knowing that the Tooth Fairy would be coming tonight. I can't believe that my baby is already losing her baby teeth! A milestone that I had never really thought about before. So my question to you all is, what does the Tooth Fairy leave under the pillow these days? Is it still pocket change, $ bills, candy? I need some direction from the more experienced parents out there. Please give me your ideas.

Our Valentine's Day Dinner

Now that we have three kids, it has become increasingly difficult to plan something special for just the two of us on Valentine's Day or any other day for that matter. We already had a group date night and a babysitter planned for Friday night (tonight), so we decided to make our Valentine's Day a family affair. It was fun! I saw Rachel Ray making this yummy Italian Surf & Turf on her show on Wednesday and decided to make it. The presentation wasn't the same, but it tasted great! We knew the kids wouldn't be interested in it, since they rarely want to eat what we are eating, so we got them their own special dinner from Taco Bell of all places. Whatever works for them! :) They were happy. After dinner we all watched An American Tale together. What a cute little show. I hadn't watched it since I was little. The kids really liked it. It was a fun night and who says Valentine's Day has to be about our significant other?? As long as we are with the ones we love!
Hope everyone had a great day!

Brush with Fame

Perry and I were able to meet and get our picture taken with Mitt Romney in 2002 during the Olympics in Salt Lake. We met him at an appearance he made at the Medals Plaza right before the N' Sync concert. It was a cool experience to meet the guy who completely rescued the Salt Lake Olympic Committee and turned everything around to be a huge success.

Now here we are six years later and he's a presidential candidate! Things are looking rough for him today and we are hoping he can pull out a much needed win in California today. It's going to be close though! He's gotten a lot further than most people thought he ever would. Good luck in the polls today Mitt!
