Pumpkin Patch.....sort of

Each year like anyone else, we like to visit a pumpkin patch to celebrate Fall and to pick out our pumpkins. I searched and searched and was unable to find a single farm with a real pumpkin patch within an hours drive of our house. So we settled for a side of the road pumpkin patch. There was no corn maze, hayride, petting zoo or homemade apple cider, but the kids didn't seem to mind. They had fun running around, picking out their pumpkins and pulling each other in the wagons. The first day we went, it was literally 90 something degrees. It felt so wrong to be doing our Fall festivities in the sweltering heat. My camera died while we were there and I didn't really get any good pictures, so we stopped by a couple days later when the weather was a cool 75 degrees and I got a few more pics. As usual the only who likes to look at the camera is Abby. I guess I need to learn how to take better candid shots.

Cute kiddos!

My cute little punkin! These are the pumpkins we got. Andrew wanted the bumpy one.

Abby always ready for a photo op. She's such a little poser :)

And then there's Andrew. You can't get him to look anywhere close to the camera. Good thing he's handsome.

Very fun! We have corm mazes and pumpkin patches coming out of our ears! It's fun to learn about different areas with different climates and landscapes. You have such a cute little family!

Cute pictures! How are you hanging in there?

We just went to St. George to go to a pumpkin patch and it was the first one I've been to with a maze and rides and everything. Sorry you were stuck in lame Georgia for it!

I hope you're doing okay!

That huge pumpkin is AWESOME!!! Are you going to carve it? And Andrew is looking so much older--crazy. You look good, I keep thinking I should call, and then the day passes away, so I'm glad you posted. :)

The bumpy ones gross me out. I don't know why, but I think of warts when I see them and I think I have a phobia of warts. ew. Fun times and I can only remember all those times going with you guys to Larriland Farms in MD. We would settle for a road side patch right now. :)

Isn't it great that the kids don't mind? Ainsley is happy to just sit (yes, sit) with the pumpkins at the commissary.

Ava is SO big! And you look great!

It looks like you had fun even with just a roadside stand. Sorry, can't help you with anything better than a roadside stand. We never did find a farm to visit there except to pick strawberries and that was more of a field than a farm. We cheat with pumpkins right now and just decorate with pie pumpkins by setting them out, with no carving, because we're cheap, and then we cook and puree them to use in recipes.

As always, you look great and your kids are adorable! Too bad Perry can't be there as well.

What cute kids you have! I love the pumpkins...great choices.
I wouldn't stress too much about the corn mazes and all that stuff...the kids remember you taking them to the farm...nothing more.
hugs!

Doesn't it stink that there are no farms?

This is the first place we've ever just really not liked.

I want the Southern charm with cooler temps and better shopping...

I think for not having a pumpkin patch you got some super cute pics with the kids. I'm glad Chandler is not the only one that doesn't look at the camera. What are we going to do with our 3 yr olds?

Wow, we have the same picture. Kids that don't cooperate...Check! Missing father who's attendance would sure make things easier...Check! I guess the only difference is the attire. I had to stop at walmart on the way and pick up gloves and hats. It was cold!! Oh, I forgot up on line 3, missing father to make it more fun. I guess it's not about us, it's all about the kids:) Hey we did it, big pats on our backs. Next...Trick or treating?? Don't forget to put on your smile:)

At least you tried a pumpkin patch all my kids got was a " what pumpkin do you want out of the walmart bin" thing. By the way did you cut your hair? It looks great, it looks like we are wearing our hair the same way these days, except you're cute!
