Abby's first day of school was so exciting! She is in afternoon Pre-K, but she was ready with her snack and backpack at 10:00 am! It was a long morning with her asking me every five minutes, "Is it time yet?" So I have had several people ask me if it was hard to drop her off at school for the first time. I don't know if this makes me an insensitive mother, but to be quite honest, it wasn't hard at all. She is so ready for school and a ready for a little more independence. And I am ready for a little bit of time to focus on the other kids while she is gone at school. She has been so excited and happy to go to school everyday. She has a couple friends, MJ and Sophie that she already knows in her class and she is having so much fun. I do have to say that the only hard thing for me about sending a child out into the world is the fear of her loss of innocence. This is when it starts. I know, its only Elementary school and what real harm can be done? At this point it's only potty humor and name-calling, but she has been under my protective wing for 4 1/2 years with little other influence from the outside world. I have pretty much had control of her environment up until now. But I know she'll be just fine. She's a smart girl. I just feel extremely old having a kid in school.

Sarah! I've been waiting for you to post something! :) I saw your blog link on Molly's blog a couple of weeks ago...
I'm glad you've joined the blog-o-sphere. It's a fun way to stay connected and intouch with people. I must say, those kids of your's are sure cute! If you feel old having a kid in Pre-K, imagine how I feel having a 1st grader! We ARE getting old.
Keep on posting...I hope you don't mind if I blog stalk you now and then.

Sarah, I'm so excited you're a blogger! You pictures are great. Your kids are, as always, adorable and I loved the photos from Ocean City! Sounds like things are going well.. I hear I need to call you. Email me your phone number!
I'll never forget your first day of kindegarten--you were so cute in your little white dress and curled hair!! And YOU were so ready to start school. Its funny that I don't remember the others first day, but only YOU. I guess being the first kid, you paved the way for so many things for everyone in the family. I'll never forget how terrified you were of strangers. I guess we pounded that one pretty hard to the point of terror!!! mom
